Coorie is as a verb meaning “to nestle or snuggle”, derived from an older Scots term, “coor” meaning to cower or crouch. Although the original term does not translate in to the idea of cosy comforts phrases such as “coorie in” or “coorie doon” express the feeling of wrapping yourself in a blanket whilst sitting around a fire or a warm hug from loved one.
